Start with the client and the work
Client details connect the work to the person or business you are billing. Save the information you need, prepare a quote when the scope still needs agreement, or begin an invoice when the work is already settled. Review the recipient details before preparing the document.
Review the invoice before sending
An invoice should give the client a clear record of the agreed work and the amount due. Add the services, prices and payment terms, then review the totals, business details and recipient in preview. Keep unfinished work as a draft and send the document only when it is ready.
Record the money you receive
Record partial or full payments against the invoice. Invoice-It keeps the credited amount and remaining balance together; recording a payment does not charge a card or transfer money.
Keep the receipt and the record
The payment receipt documents the recorded payment rather than replacing the invoice. Open it to review the details, send it to the client or download a copy. Saved invoice, payment and expense records also provide the basis for workspace reporting, so review those records when a reported value needs explanation.
